Living in Texas, I certainly agree what he has to say about the Panhandle.

My encounters with folks in the Panhandle, were all positive, as well as SW Kansas going up to I-70. Went through Greensburg (sp) Talk about devastation. This was right after the tornado went thru a few years ago.

I can't tell if I land in the Republic of Austin, or in the very Beginning of the the South.

Pretty sure I'm in the South.

Ahh, I dont venture down there too often, but there's a motorcycle down there I'm going to be looking at in a couple weeks.

If you had to choose, UT or Texas A&M? (yes, that is a trick question.)

Speaking as someone from the Golden Triangle, I agree.

UT. duh.

Yes, it is. Also, some people from East Texas (esp those that live 20 minutes from the Louisiana border) will insist that folks that live in Dallas (an hour from the Oklahoma border) aren't really Texans.

Neither. Both are inferior to Kansas in every possible way (except football)

I figured there was potential for that answer.

Well, I've taught for UT, and my daughter went to Texas A&M. Lived in Houston for some years too. Best thing to say, is that A&M is a paramilitary cult, but they are straight up solid individuals. And UT is better for most graduate programs. Undergrad, it mostly depends on what you want in a school. The party life in Austin is second to none, especially if you like music.

And disregard Jake's opinions. There is nothing in Kansas except flat, fat food, and flakes.

Texas within 30 miles if the Sabine River (dividing line between Louisiana and Texas) is simply a part of Louisiana annexed by Texas.

It's a desolate area, where you can see an extra 100 miles if you stand on a tuna can.

If you had to choose between Texas and Texas A&M and was wanting a really good education, you choose Baylor.

I've visited both A&M and UT. Austin's a fine city, College Station is awful. Neither campus holds a candle to KUs campus, and I still prefer Lawrence to Austin. Plus KU is better at basketball than either school.

I am a proud Citizen of the People's Republic of Austin, an oasis of blue in a sundering sea of red. This guy is awesome. He's better than everybody else in Texas, and he considers me an elitist. Neat.
